Apples and Honey

Apples and Honey showcase the edible gifts that trees present us with. The Jewish New Year Rosh Hashanah is celebrated each year in the fall which is traditionally the harvest season in Israel. Amazingly, for thousands of years Jews have kept this tradition alive regardless of what country they lived in. The foods symbolize the desire for a sweet year. The piece is a fused glass piece. It is made by cutting up small pieces of specialty glass and firing them in a kiln for many hours.
