CALL FOR ENTRY ‘Symphony of Color’ Exhibition October 18 - November 26, 2023
Martha Spak Gallery invites artists to submit their 2D and 3D art for this themed exhibition "Symphony of Color". Enter work that is any interpretation with works of art inspired by change, seasonal color and experience. Share your artistic vision with us. All mediums are welcome.

Autumn’s rhythm and mood reminds us that nothing stays the same for long. This call for art invites 2D and 3D artists to submit works of art inspired by change, seasonal color or experience.

Cash prizes will be awarded for Best in Show, Second Place and Third Place. There will also be the People’s Choice Award chosen by Wharf visitors. This exhibition will be both in the gallery and online. We can’t wait to see your work. Submit now!

JUROR Lesley Duncan

Lesley holds a MA in Art History from George Washington University and a BA in Art History from the University of Georgia. Her educational focus was on European paintings while her professional experience rests in American art of the mid-19th through mid-20th centuries. She has worked for the venerable Childs Gallery in Boston and Weschler’s auction house in Washington, DC. Lesley organized traveling museum exhibitions for The Trust for Museum Exhibitions. Among the galleries she was involved with in San Francisco was the online art gallery iTheo.com, which she founded in the late 1990’s. Most recently, Lesley has been focused on expanding Bellus Fine Art to bring fresh-to-market artwork to collectors through extensive research and personal experience in the industry.

ARTWORK Eligibility

• Artist must be at least 18 years and older and be able to deliver and pickup their artwork at the Gallery in Washington, DC.
  
• All 2D and 3D entries must be original and created solely by the artist.
  
• Work must be for sale
  
• A $35 entry fee to submit up to 3 works of art. The maximum size of artwork allowed is 36” x 48”.  Please consider artwork size when applying. 

NOTIFICATION

• All artists will receive notification by email.
  
• Accepted artists and artwork will also be posted on the Gallery website.
  

AWARDS

Cash awards chosen by juror for Best in Show, 2nd Place, 3rd Place announced at the opening reception October 28.

SALES

• Artists will retain 50% from sales. The Gallery retains 50% commission on any work sold through the Gallery. 
  

SCHEDULE

ENTRY OPEN: August 1, 2023

ENTRY DEADLINE: September 25, 023

NOTIFICATION: October 3, 2023

ARTWORK DROP OFF: October 15, 2023 12-6pm or October 16, 11-1pm at the gallery.

EXHIBITION: October 18 - November 26, 2023

OPENING RECEPTION: Saturday, October 28, 2023 from 6-8PM Juror Awards: Best in Show, 2nd Prize, 3rd Prize announced.

ART PICK UP: November 26, 2023 12-6pm or November 27 11-1pm
